Using the slogan, “More than just a bagel,” Hasbrouck Heights’ newest eatery believes “The highest quality of meals comes from the freshest local ingredients.
"By taking great care and pride in sourcing the items on our menu, we hope to connect with our customers through the most basic of human needs: Great food!”
We use a different system to make the bagels crunchier and not as soggy," Bagel Shop Baker Enrique Calle said.
The Bagel Shop steams its plump, rolled strips before baking — instead of following the bagel tradition of first boiling, then baking the rolls.
It also uses high quality, unbleached King Arthur flour.
The shop has been open a little over two weeks.
Customers, Enrique says, are “everybody in town.”
The Bagel Shops serves plain, cinnamon raisin, egg, marble, pumpernickel, chocolate chip, whole wheat and whole grain bagels.
Toppings include onion, garlic, salt, seeds, and everyone’s favorite, the “everything” bagel. The specialty bagel is whole wheat with multi-grain.
